(COLDWATER) – A suspect has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle contraband into the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater.
Michigan State Police say between 3:30 PM and 4 PM on Thursday, Lakeland staff detained a 40 year old Westland, Michigan woman for smuggling drugs into the prison. She was at the facility to visit with a prisoner.
The woman was detained and a subsequent investigation led to her arrest.
She is being held in the Branch County Jail on two felony charges, pending her arraignment.
