(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana’s unemployment rate saw a slight drop from May to June.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the June unemployment rate was 3.6%, which is down from 3.7% in May.
In addition, Indiana’s labor force participation rate is 63.7% compared to the national rate of 62.3%. This rate is the percentage of Hoosiers 16 and older that are either working or actively looking for work. Indiana’s total labor force stands at 3,489,938.
June 2025 total private employment is at 2,844,300 which is a decrease of 3,900 from the previous month.
Industries that experienced job increases this month included: Professional & Business Services (+1,000); Private Educational & Health Services (+500) and Trade, Transportation & Utilities (+400).
