NIPSCO Says Higher Heating Bills Likely
Thursday, October 16, 2025

(INDIANA) - This winter, families in northern Indiana who use NIPSCO for their natural gas might have to pay more to heat their homes. The company looked at the market and the weather and thinks that heating bills will be about 16 percent higher than last year.
For an average family, this means their total bill for the five coldest months (November through March) could be around $665. That's about $90 more for the whole winter, or $18 more each month, compared to last winter. The company said this is just an estimate, and the final bill could be different if the weather is much colder or warmer than usual.
