COLDWATER, Mich. - Tibbits Opera House has announced a transition in its artistic leadership.
In a media release, Tibbits announced that after four years of dedicated service, Artistic Director Peter Riopelle will be stepping back from his current position due to personal circumstances. Chad Tallon, who is a seasoned member of the Tibbits community, will step into the role of Interim Artistic Director this summer.
The release says that Riopelle has been an integral part of Tibbits Opera House for the past four years, during which he has brought his vision, passion, and expertise to the theatre. Under his leadership, Tibbits has seen remarkable growth and success, with critically acclaimed productions and a thriving artistic community. Riopelle's legacy at Tibbits is marked by his commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to the arts.
Riopelle says he is grateful for the opportunity to serve as Artistic Director. Riopelle says it has been one of the greatest personal and professional honors of his life to have served Tibbits and the community for the past four years. He says he hopes he leaves the beloved, sacred place healthy, thriving, and just a little better than he found her.
Chad Tallon, who has been a part of Tibbits for over a decade, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his new role as Interim Artistic Director. Tallon has served in various capacities within the theatre, demonstrating his deep commitment to its mission and values. As he steps into his new role, Tallon says he is excited to continue the tradition of excellence established by Riopelle and to lead Tibbits into its next chapter.
Christine Delaney, Tibbits Executive Director, reflects, say they are saddened by the departure of Riopelle, whose contributions have been invaluable to Tibbits. She says they extend their deepest gratitude to him for his dedication and leadership over the years.
Delaney says as they bid farewell to one chapter, they welcome Tallon, confident in his ability to uphold Riopelle’s legacy of excellence.
