BUTLER, IN – Police in DeKalb County say that a man suffered only a minor injury in a crash that ended with a truck upside down in a field early Sunday morning.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Department says that while on patrol just before 1 a.m. in the 4300 block of SR 8, a deputy located the Dodge Ram on its top in the field on the north side of SR 8 and the east side of CR 43. He reportedly searched the vehicle and found no one.
The driver, identified as Travis Hufstetler, 31 of Butler, stated he suffered no injuries except a small scratch on his left forearm.
He said that as he traveled eastbound on SR 8 in the 4300 block, he lost control due to weather conditions. It was then that the truck flipped over off the north side of the roadway.
Police say that they believe speed was a factor in the crash and that further investigation is pending.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Butler Police Department.
