(FORT WAYNE) – A former librarian and board of education member for the East Noble School Corporation has been arrested for public indecency.

The Fort Wayne Police Department says 52 year old Scott Truelove of LaOtto, was arrested last week at a Fort Wayne Park, during a sex crimes and narcotics operation. Investigators say several citizen complaints have been called in about lewd acts happening at Swinney Park.

Police were patrolling the park undercover on July 22, and according to court records families and small children were at the park.

Court records say Truelove approached a police officer who was in his car. It’s alleged that Truelove got into the car on the passenger side and said he was trying to “get out more” to meet men in public places for sexual encounters. He then allegedly exposed himself to the officer and was arrested.

Truelove had been the Secretary of the East Noble Schools Board of Education. A letter was posted to the East Noble website by School Board President Doug Jansen saying they were told of Truelove’s arrest, and following discussions between District leadership and Truelove, he agreed to step down from the Board immediately.

In addition, East Noble Superintendent Marilyn Hissong says that District Administration investigated the matter and Truelove is no longer employed as the librarian at Heritage Jr/Sr. High School.
