(MERRILLVILLE) - The season of giving is glowing a little brighter across northern Indiana thanks to the 13th annual Hope for the Holidays campaign led by Northern Indiana Public Service Company.
This year's campaign delivered $239,425 in charitable donations to 23 nonprofit organizations throughout NIPSCO's service area, supported by grants from the NiSource Charitable Foundation. On top of that, NIPSCO employees donated more than 800 new toys to seven local chapters of Toys for Tots, helping ensure children across the region have something special to open this holiday season.
"Hope for the Holidays is special because it showcases the incredible generosity of our employees," said Vince Parisi, NIPSCO president and chief operating officer. "Each year, they go above and beyond with donating toys and finding new ways to make the holidays brighter for families in need."
The financial contributions were distributed to organizations focused on food security, housing stability, emergency services, and family support. The funding helped provide winter coats and clothing, holiday meals, hygiene supplies, and warming centers during the coldest months of the year.
Among the organizations receiving support were: Stillwater Hospice, the Allen County Salvation Army, United Way serving Howard and Tipton counties, the Center for the Homeless, Family Promise of Porter County, and Greater Hammond Community Services, along with township trustee offices and public safety agencies across the region.
Now in its 13th year, Hope for the Holidays has become a cornerstone of NIPSCO's community outreach, pairing corporate giving with employee-led generosity to meet immediate needs during the winter season.
