WLKI- Walmart is recalling more than 4.4 million Expert Grill metal wire bristle grill brushes after federal safety officials warned that small metal bristles can detach and become stuck on grills or in cooked food.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Thursday, affecting about 4,477,655 Expert Grill Metal Wire Bristle Grill Brushes sold by Walmart.

According to the CPSC, the brushes pose an ingestion hazard because small metal wire bristles may fall off during use. Those bristles could stick to a grill's surface or become embedded in food, creating a potential risk of injury if swallowed.

No incidents or injuries had been reported as of Thursday.

The recall includes Expert Grill metal wire bristle grill brushes with black plastic or stainless-steel handles. The following model numbers are included:

  • EX5607031616002
  • EX5607031616003
  • XG1310700206
  • XG1136178597003
  • XG1410700124

The brushes were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and through Walmart's website from January 2021 through August 2026.

Customers are being urged to stop using the recalled grill brushes immediately. Consumers can contact Walmart for a full refund or store credit, either in person or online. The CPSC said customers may return the brushes to Walmart or discard them.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers can find additional recall details and refund information through Walmart's recall page.
