(ANGOLA) - The City of Angola has completed its first crosswalk mural.
The new mural is located on Washington Street near Hendry Park and is designed to welcome students back to school while also improving pedestrian safety.
City officials say the colorful design makes the crosswalk more visible and encourages drivers to slow down in the area.
The project was created by artist Maren Fifer with assistance from the Angola Street Department, the Mayor's Arts Council and funding through the Safe Routes to School Grant program.
City officials say four additional crosswalk murals are planned.
