(ANGOLA) - Cameron Health has introduced JointAccess Ortho and Urgent Care, combining orthopedic, sports medicine and urgent care services at its clinic at 1381 N. Wayne St.
The health system announced the updated clinic model Wednesday, saying the new service is designed to provide patients with a single point of access for orthopedic, sports medicine and urgent care needs through providers with training in musculoskeletal and acute care.
JointAccess Ortho is intended to provide evaluation and treatment for urgent orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sprains, strains and joint pain. The orthopedic service is located alongside Cameron Health's Urgent Care clinic, which will continue treating non-life-threatening medical concerns.
According to Cameron Health, the clinic will offer immediate evaluation and treatment for sports medicine and non-sports-related orthopedic injuries, coordination between providers and improved access to care.
As part of the expansion, Dr. Christopher Gasaway has transitioned from primary care to the new clinic. Gasaway is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine. Cameron Health also recently added Dr. Jordan Geroski to its sports medicine team.
Gasaway earned his medical degree from Kansas City University, completed a family medicine residency through Reid Health and a sports medicine fellowship through Community Health Network in Indianapolis.
Geroski joins Cameron Health with nearly a decade of experience in sports medicine and provides non-surgical care focused on injury prevention and recovery.
Angie Logan, president and CEO of Cameron Health, said the integrated model expands access to orthopedic care, sports medicine and urgent care services while improving coordination and access for patients.
The clinic's provider team also includes Dr. Charles MacLean, medical director of JointAccess Ortho and Urgent Care, and physician assistant Tammi McCoy.
JointAccess Ortho and Urgent Care is now open and providing services to patients. Cameron Health said updated signage and additional improvements to the clinic space are planned in the coming weeks.
