(BUTLER) - A portion of State Road 1 in Butler will close next week for railroad crossing repairs.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says Norfolk Southern crews will begin work on or after Monday, May 4, weather permitting.
The closure will impact S.R. 1 between Railroad Street and Willow Street at the northernmost rail crossing in Butler. The project is expected to last about one week, though the schedule could change depending on weather.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use a detour route along State Road 8, Interstate 69, and U.S. 6, or find an alternate path.
INDOT is reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, and avoid distractions when traveling through work zones.
