(INDIANAPOLIS) - Stephanie Hamilton filed paperwork Thursday with the Indiana Secretary of State to run for Steuben County prosecutor, launching her campaign ahead of the May 2026 Republican primary.

Hamilton is a Steuben County native, an Angola High School graduate and a mother of three. A Republican, she has more than 15 years of experience in family and criminal law and has worked closely with local law enforcement, families and the courts.

"I'm running for prosecutor because this office plays a critical role in keeping our communities safe and ensuring justice is applied fairly and consistently," Hamilton said in a press release. "Steuben County deserves a prosecutor who puts victims first, holds violent offenders accountable and runs an office that works efficiently and professionally."

Her campaign will focus on public safety, strong support for victims and a justice approach that emphasizes accountability while using evidence-based strategies to reduce repeat crime, the release said.

Voters can meet Hamilton at community events ahead of the primary election. More information is available at hamiltonforprosecutor.com.
