(AUBURN) - A Decatur man was injured Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 69 near Auburn, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. near the 325 mile marker as traffic slowed for emergency vehicles on the shoulder. Carl Anderson, 60, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with head and back pain.
Investigators say Anderson's pickup and an SUV driven by an Angola woman had slowed when a third vehicle failed to stop in time. That vehicle struck Anderson's truck from behind, pushing it into the SUV ahead.
The other two drivers were not hurt. Deputies estimate total vehicle damage at about $20,000.
Auburn Fire, Parkview EMS and county dispatch assisted at the scene.
