(ANGOLA) - The Angola Fire Department is looking to add new firefighters to its ranks.

The department is accepting applications to fill two full-time firefighter positions. Officials say they're seeking candidates who are motivated, professional, and ready to serve the community.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, under 40 at the time of hire, and be a U.S. citizen. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid driver's license and a clean driving and criminal record. Candidates must also hold firefighter certifications, including Firefighter I and II, EMR or higher, and several NIMS and hazardous materials credentials.

Pay is based on experience and years of service. The position includes a full benefits package, featuring a 1977 pension, longevity pay, medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, sick leave, and uniforms and equipment provided.

Application packets are available at the Angola Fire Station, located at 202 W. Gilmore Street, and can be picked up any day between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Completed applications must be returned to the City of Angola Human Resources Office at 210 N. Public Square.

Applicants who have submitted a packet within the past 60 days and wish to be considered must contact Fire Chief Bill Harter before the application deadline.
