In 3A Girls Basketball Sectional actionFairfield took care of business against a depleted, shorthanded West Noble program. Morgan Gawthrop had 17 points to lead Fairfield, followed by Brea Garber with 14.
Lakeland hung on to win a thriller against an improved Northwood team. 2 Lakers reached double figures led by Peyton Hartsough’s 18 points, and Olivia Oman’s 15.
In tonight Championship it will be Fairfield (23-2) vs Lakeland (13-10) at 7 PM.
Fairfield has never 3-peated as sectional champions in girls basketball. Lakeland is looking for their first sectional since 2021.
The winner of tonight’s game will play at the Jimtown Regional site a week from tonight.
