COLDWATER, MI – Nurses at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital have given their leadership the right to call a strike.
A representative of the Branch County Independent Nurses Association has told Swick Broadcasting that their membership gave their leadership the permission last week to call a strike against the Coldwater based hospital. The Association has been working without a contract since December 31, 2022 and have voted down three contract proposals presented by ProMedica.
The two organizations started contract talks in September.
The Association’s bargaining team is fighting for retention of current nurses, the recruitment of new nurses and safer staffing ratios.
No new talks have been scheduled between the two sides.
