PEORIA, IL - The TinCaps continued their winning ways on Thursday night at Dozer Park.
This time Fort Wayne did it coming from behind late in a 5-2 victory over the Peoria Chiefs (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) as right fielder Joshua Mears mashed an eighth-inning, go-ahead, two-out, three-run home run. The 'Caps have won four of their last five.
For the 21-year-old Mears, San Diego's No. 8 prospect, it was his ninth homer in 34 games with Fort Wayne this season. That catapulted the 'Caps (13-14, 40-53) ahead, 3-1.
The TinCaps play again tonight, Friday, July 29th at Peoria. First pitch rolls out at 7:35 PM.
