LAGRANGE, IN - it all came down in a battle to the end between Prairie Heights and Garrett to decide the NECC Wrestling Tournament, but in the end the Panthers reigned supreme.

Heights wrestled to take the championship, 275-269, over Garrett who finished in second place.

The Panthers had three wrestlers take the top spot as individual champions in their weight class. NECC Champs for the Panthers included Brock Hagewood (132), Luke Severe (160), and Hunter Allen (220).

Angola was third with 172 points and led by three conference champions: undefeated heavyweight Brandon Villafuerte, Isaiah McCue at 126 and ninth grade Kameron Straw at 106.

Fremont wrestlers got past the host Lakers for fourth, 155.5-151.5. Fremont’s Jacob Behm was the Champion at 195 pounds.
