(THREE RIVERS) – Patients of Beacon Health Three Rivers Hospital have been notified of a data breach.
An alert went out Monday to patients of the Three Rivers facility. CPS Solutions which helps support pharmacy operations for health care clients, provided notice of a cybersecurity incident that may have affected some individuals in Michigan.
According to a letter that was sent out, on December 4, 2024, CPS Solutions became aware of unauthorized access by an unknown third party to one of the companies employee's business e-mail accounts and immediately took steps to prevent further access.
An investigation was launched and determined that data from the account was accessed and removed between December 2 and December 4. On January 24, 2025, CPS completed a comprehensive review which identified all customers and individuals potentially affected by this incident and what information was involved. CPS notified Beacon Health Three Rivers on February 10.
The letter says the personal information involved may have included full name, date of birth, health insurance information and/or medical information. Information such as Social Security Numbers, driver’s license numbers, credit and debit card information, bank account information, test results, images, hospital medical records and account passwords were not involved for these individuals.
CPS says they regret this incident and any concern it may have caused anyone. They encourage individuals to carefully review statements sent from healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure all account activity is valid.
CPS is also offering affected individuals two years of free credit monitoring and identity protection services. If anyone wants to get more information or has any questions, they can call 1-877-332-4437 between 8 AM and 8 PM Central Time.
