AUBURN - The Auburn Birthing Center officially reopened on Saturday, May 18.
The center closed in February after a dispute between the co-owners over the selling of the building.
Michelle Dunn, a certified birth doula and advocate for Auburn Birthing Center, explained the group need to raise $125,000 to buy the co-owner out in order to reopen to center.
The Auburn Birthing Center met their goal and raised a total of $125,315 out of their $125,000 goal on their GoFundMe.
On the Auburn Birthing Center's website, LINKA, they state, "Auburn Birthing Center is a freestanding birth center located in Northeast Indiana. We are a midwife owned and operated business. Our goal is to provide a safe out-of-hospital birth option for local families.
The birthing center is located at 1915 Wesley Road, in Auburn.
