Name Released Of Michigan Man Arrested With Pipe Bomb In Fremont

FREMONT - More information regarding the Michigan man arrested on Tuesday in downtown Fremont with a stolen gun and pipe bomb on his motorcycle has been released.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office arrested Arvil Wesley Bryant Jr., 32, of Litchfield, Michigan in the 100 block of West Toledo Street in on a Level 6 felony fugitive warrant.

The Fremont Police Department stated throughout the course of the arrest and investigation of Bryant a probable cause was developed to file further charges of possession of an explosive device, possession of controlled substances, possession of hypodermic needles, possession or marijuana and possession of a stolen handgun.

Bryant is being held at the Steuben County Jail on a $295,000 bond pending extradition to Michigan.

Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott B. Hodshire said, "the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office would like to alert the public to a multi state investigation that was recently successfully conducted with the assistance of our State and Federal Law Enforcement Partners."

The initial charges against Bryant originated in Hillsdale County for weapons and explosive related crimes.

Sheriff Hodshire said the, "Hillsdale County Detectives worked closely with the Michigan State Police, the Indiana State Police, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Steuben County Sheriff's Office and the Fremont Police Department to bring this person into custody safely."
