FORT WAYNE - The Indiana State Police have spent the last three weekends cracking down on impaired drivers in Northeast Indiana.
Over the past three weekends this month, State Troopers from the Fort Wayne Post have been conducting saturation patrols across the greater Fort Wayne region with a primary focus on impaired driving interdiction and overall traffic safety.
Theses targeted patrols were worked each Friday and Saturday night when impaired driving is typically more common.
Troopers schedules were changed from their normal days off as well as an adjustment in shift hours in order to have an increased number of troopers working during the targeted night patrol timeframes.
The following numbers are a snapshot of the overall productivity of those patrols:

•241 traffic tickets issued
•438 warnings were issued
•9 arrests for Operating While Intoxicated / 2 felony violations
