QUINCY, MI – Multiple sex charges have been brought against a Quincy man
following an investigation.
Branch County District Court officials say 45 year old Henry Hoath was
arraigned Saturday on three charges of second degree criminal sexual conduct.
In addition, the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges of aggravated child sexually abusive activity; using a computer to commit a crime; aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and capturing and distributing an image of an unclothed person.
Prosecutors also filed a second offense habitual offender sentencing enhancer
against Hoath. Online court records show that Hoath was convicted in 1997 for
attempted misdemeanor fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.
The alleged victim is under the age of 13 and the crimes took place between
November 2022 and January 2023.
Court officials say the Quincy Police Department started their investigation in February, and were assisted by the Michigan State Police.
Hoath plead not guilty to the charges. Bond was set at $100,000.
Court officials say if he is able to post bond, Hoath is not to have any contact with the alleged victim, or anyone under the age of 18. He would also not be allowed to use electronic devices.
Hoath is scheduled to have a probable cause hearing on June 1 and a
preliminary examination on June 7.
