INDIANAPOLIS — Unemployment rates across much of northeast Indiana saw improvement in August after a couple of months of increases.

Several area counties were among the lowest in the state. After leading the state last month, Steuben County rolled in at 2.1%, which was tied for the second lowest rate in the state with Adams, Hamilton, and Wells counties.

LaGrange County was at 2.3%, which was tied for the fourth lowest rate in the state.

DeKalb County was at 2.5%, while Noble County at 3.0%.

According to Northeast Indiana Works, there were 145,304 online job postings in early September. Northeast Indiana alone had 16,772 online job postings, second only to the Indianapolis area.
