TOPEKA, IN - A 13-year-old died and five others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 5 late Friday afternoon.
Aaccording to the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville was traveling south on State Road 5, at the intersection of County Road 700 South, when it reportedly turned in front of a northbound 2009 Ford Fusion.
The Pontiac was struck on the passenger side.
The 17-year-old driver of the Pontiac and three juvenile passengers were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Lybie Miller, age 13 of Ligonier, was eventually flown to a different hospital, and later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Ford and a 17-month-old passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to accident investigators, both drivers and all passengers, except for Miller were wearing seatbelts.
