(ANGOLA) - Fire crews from several departments responded to a barn fire early this morning on Metz Road, with damage estimated at $110,000.
Angola and Metz fire units were dispatched around 4 a.m. and arrived to find a 30-by-30-foot barn fully engulfed and collapsing. The fire occurred in a non-hydranted area, prompting mutual aid for tanker trucks and additional manpower from Steuben Township, Fremont, and Hamilton fire departments, along with the Steuben County Sheriff's Department and EMS.
The barn housed machinery and equipment. No injuries were reported. Crews stayed on scene to extinguish hot spots, and the fire was declared under control just after 5 a.m.
