(ANGOLA) - The City of Angola will issue a special proclamation Friday honoring Caruso's Restaurant for 50 years in business.
The family-owned restaurant, founded in 1974 by Joe and Barb Caruso, is hosting a private anniversary dinner Friday evening, closing its dining rooms to the public.
The celebration features a six-course "Little Italy" meal served over five hours, with recipes tracing back to the Caruso family's "nonna".
Dan Caruso says the menu reflects a concept his parents created early in the restaurant's history during challenging times.
Caruso's will remain open for carryout service until 6:30 p.m.
The restaurant plans additional promotions throughout the year, including "Golden Ticket" giveaways, as part of the anniversary celebration.
Owners say the milestone is a way to thank customers for their support, calling it 50 years of "Food is Love."
