(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Governor Mike Braun is condemning what he calls a disturbing surge in threats against state lawmakers -- including threats directed at him and his family -- following a bomb threat at Senator Andy Zay's vehicle rental business in Huntington.

The bomb scare was the latest in a week filled with swatting attempts and harassment targeting Senate Republicans.

Braun took to social media platform, X, on Friday afternoon, saying "Enough is enough," and calling for an end to the threats aimed at lawmakers and their families. He says Indiana State Police and other agencies have been working around the clock to track down those responsible. According to the governor's office, state police are investigating multiple "credible" threats made against Braun, though no details were released. Braun issued a strong warning: "If you threaten or attempt to carry out acts of violence against Indiana's elected officials, we WILL bring you to justice." Senator Andy Zay confirmed that his Huntington business was targeted with a bomb threat, calling it part of a troubling pattern of intimidation. Four other Indiana state senators have been targeted in attempted swattings last week, all of whom oppose redistricting or are undecided.
