(ANGOLA) - Artists have two new opportunities to leave a visible mark on downtown Angola through projects announced by the City of Angola's Mayor's Arts Council and Angola Main Street.

The city is now accepting submissions for its 2026-2027 Sculpture Installation, a year-long outdoor exhibit that will place selected works in high-visibility downtown locations. Chosen artists will receive a $1,000 honorarium.

A second call is also out for the city's Summer Asphalt Mural Project, which will turn local crosswalks into painted public art installations. Selected artists will receive $1,000 for each crosswalk design chosen.

The sculpture submission deadline is April 30th, while asphalt mural proposals are due May 1st.

City leaders say the projects are open to both established and emerging artists and are designed to add more creativity, color and community connection throughout downtown.

Artists interested in applying should contact Angola Main Street for application materials, project guidance and additional details.
