Indiana Sheriff's Deputy Killed While Working on I-69

(YORKTOWN, IN) - An Indiana sheriff's deputy was killed Tuesday morning while helping a stranded motorist along I-69. Corporal Blake Reynolds of the Delaware County Sheriff's Department died from injuries sustained while working at mile marker 247 just outside of Yorktown, about 60 miles north of Indianapolis. A disabled semi was partially blocking the northbound lanes when another semi-truck traveling north lost control and crashed into both the disabled truck and Reynolds' patrol vehicle. Reynolds was rushed to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the second semi, 39-year-old Teddy Johnson of New Haven, was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for emergency surgery. His current condition has not been released. Corporal Reynolds had served with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office for four years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard
