(HILLSDALE) - Hillsdale Academy, the private K-12 school affiliated with Hillsdale College, will host an open house Sunday, Feb. 1, for families interested in learning more about the school.
The open house is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the Hillsdale College campus, where Hillsdale Academy is located. Families will have the opportunity to tour the school and speak with teachers and staff.
Hillsdale Academy is a private, Christian school that offers a classical education. Headmaster Mike Roberts said the school emphasizes strong academic standards while also working to cultivate virtue and wisdom in students.
Roberts said the school partners with parents to support the development of students in mind, body and spirit.
The priority application deadline is Feb. 15, Roberts said, noting that classes do fill up. Class sizes are capped at 20 students in the lower grades. In the upper grades and high school, the student-to-teacher ratio is 15 to 1.
Roberts said concerns about cost cause some families to overlook private education, but Hillsdale Academy's endowment allows the school to offer financial assistance to many students. About 60 percent of students receive some form of financial aid.
