(MIAMI GARDENS, FL) - Fans hoping to attend the College Football Playoff national championship between Indiana and Miami should be prepared to pay a steep price.

Ticket prices surged almost immediately after Indiana Hoosiers routed Oregon 56-22 in the Peach Bowl, earning a spot in the Jan. 19 title game against the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium.

Before Indiana's win, the cheapest tickets on secondary markets were selling for about $2,800. Within hours, prices climbed to roughly $3,800 for upper-deck seats. By Saturday afternoon, TicketData reported get-in prices just under $3,600, including fees.

Listings on sites such as StubHub, TickPick, and Ticketmaster showed some seats priced above $10,000. Analysts say prices are expected to fluctuate, but demand remains high with Miami playing on its home field while seeking its sixth national title and Indiana making its first-ever appearance in the championship game.

Both schools will receive ticket allotments sold at face value to students, donors, and season-ticket holders. Early online sales showed many available seats on the visitor sideline, where Miami will be positioned under CFP designation rules.

The championship game is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
